Come To Me Recklessly

Come to Me Recklessly - A.L. Jackson

This was an amazing book! I am a huge fan of A.L. Jackson's writing so I was super excited for this book. Jared and Aly are SO amazing so if you haven't read Come To Me Quietly and Come To Me Softly you absolutely should. It was a very emotional and angsty read, as is A.L. Jackson's writing style. It was really fantastic. There was a great storyline, great characters, great writing, and epic romance. I loved catching up with Jared and Aly too. All in all, I highly recommend this one!

Deep by Kylie Scott

Deep (Stage Dive Series Book 4) - Kylie Scott

The final book of the stage dive series was perfection. I LOVED Ben and Liz. They were not perfect by any means, but they were perfect together. Ben really didn't want to commit, even though he really liked Liz. He was afraid of what having Liz and a baby would do to his rocker life. I have to say that even though I really loved this book, Ben was probably my least favorite part of it. For me, Liz stole the show. I loved catching up with all of the other Stage Dive members and their ladies. I think Mal & Anne are still my favorite. Definitely a good way to end this series though!

The Friend Zone

The Friend Zone - Kristen Callihan

Wow... This book was exactly what I needed to get out of my reading funk. I am all smiles right now. I really loved this book!! It had all of the elements that I love about New Adult Romance! First I have to talk about the humor. Oh my goodness, it was making me laugh out loud. Their cute little jokes, and just the general wittiness that stayed constant throughout the book... it was fantastic! I made a mental note of a few of those jokes for myself. Then there was the angst. Oh how I love the angst. I love the feelings that angst inspire. I know that is a no no for some people, but I personally LOVE it! There were some steamy moments. Some seriously awesome steamy moments. The characters were great! Super excited to continue this series!

Dirty Rowdy Thing by Christina Lauren

Dirty Rowdy Thing - Christina Lauren

I thought this was a very charming, funny, and steamy story. It wasn't my favorite by Christina Lauren, but it was still a good read. There was nothing that I didn't like, but there also wasn't much that I absolutely loved. I guess I just didn't connect with the characters the way that I usually do. Finn was probably the best part for me. I liked how he was just such a good guy, wanting to help his family. I still cannot wait for the next one! I really love the writing duo that is Christina Lauren and I have loved every single other book that they have written, so I am sure that I will continue to love them!

The Consequence of Loving Colton

The Consequence of Loving Colton - Rachel Van Dyken

This was the very definition of a romantic comedy. Rachel Van Dyken is VERY good at making me literally laugh out loud. She has became one of my favorite authors because of this. The Bet series is one of absolute favorites! This one was a hilariously sweet story of Milo who is in love with her brothers best friend Colton, who also happens to be in love with her. The misadventures on the weekend of her brothers wedding will have you crying-from laughing so hard. Of course, Milo and Colton were amazingly sweet together. Loved them. Max-Milo's best friend/fake boyfriend/fiancé-  kind of steals the show (can't wait for his book!) Honestly, this story was lovely all around!

Lux Beginnings by Jennifer Armentrout

Beginnings: Obsidian & Onyx - Jennifer L. Armentrout

(Same review as book # 2)

I bought these signed when the author was offering them. I liked how there was some new material in them. I didn't notice a significant amount of new stuff, but it was definitely still worth it. I loved Kat and Daemon. Seriously, Daemon is one of my favorite book boyfriends of all time. I love the heck out of him. Of course, there were times where I kind of wanted to shake Katy. She was a buttface at times, but when it was all said and done, I still loved her. She did love Daemon, even if it did take her a bit to realize it. But their story is one of absolute favorites. It is one that I have reread a few ties already, and I will probably reread many more times in the future.

Opposition - Jennifer L. Armentrout

I have no words for how much I loved this book! I have been a fan of the Lux series for a while now, so I was both sad to see the series end, and excited for Kat and Daemon to get their happy(ish) ending. They have already went through so much together, so of course the ending wasn't all sunshine and rainbows, but it was pretty dang close!

Be My Hero by Linda Kage

Be My Hero - Linda Kage

This was a great story! Loved Pick and Tink! Super sweet. It had a very homey/family feel to it, which I absolutely loved. Eva did in fact redeem herself, at least in my eyes she did. I was waiting to read this book until I had time to read it straight through. It was definitely worth the wait. Super excited to read With Every Heartbeat now!

Take a Chance By: Abbi Glines

Take a Chance - Abbi Glines

Okay WOW! I have to admit that it took me a long time to read this book. I was a little afraid to be honest. Not because I didn’t think I would like this book but because I knew exactly how AMAZING this book would be and I knew exactly how excruciating the cliffhanger would be. So… I waited until part two (One More Chance- Review to come) was out. I wanted to read it SO bad. But still, I waited.

“I don’t do possessive and crazy. Never have. But you. . . I want to wrap you up and run off with you so no one can touch you again. Just me. Always me.”

This book just flipping blew me away. Like… BOOM. Of course, I knew it would be incredible. I mean, Abbi Glines wrote it after all. Grant and Harlow’s story was beautiful, passionate, sweet, and heartbreaking. I loved every single second of reading this book. I loved every single word on every single page. Just, wow.

“I think about you. I dream about you,” he said in a husky whisper against my ear. I shivered and felt my grip on my chicken loosen. God, please don’t let me dump my food on myself. “You’re too sweet for me, but damned if I care,” he said, then pressed a kiss to the skin under my ear.”

Grant loved Harlow to such a degree that I could just FEEL it. He was afraid, but he loved her. Completely. & She loved him just as much. Their relationship was not perfect. There were so many things that made it difficult. Of course, one of the biggest problems was Nan. (Still a #NanHater). But their story was incredibly beautiful despite all of the problems that existed between them. It was inspiring. It was the kind of love story that makes me believe in true love.

“I would do whatever I had to do to keep her. Hell, I’d move to L.A. if I had to. I wasn’t letting her go. For the first time in my life I felt home. “I told you so,” I whispered against her lips before claiming her mouth again.”

There isn’t a single thing wrong with this book. It was perfect. Beginning to end. What was so great about it you ask? Well, I will tell you. The writing. Abbi Glines knows how to write a freaking book let me tell you. I had to stop a few times during this book because the awesomeness of it just was so intensely awesome. The words just flow together so perfectly. I went through so many emotions while reading this book that it is ridiculous. Ridiculously awesome.

“It was your name I cried out. I was drunk, but even drunk it was you I was fantasizing about. Once I got a taste of you, nothing else worked for me. You were all I could think about.”

The characters. I always loved Grant. I was a little bit mad for his whole thing with Nan… but I loved him. And I loved Harlow. She was so sweet that it was hard not to love her and I loved how she didn’t take any crap from Nan (or Grant). But… Grant and harlow together? It. Was. Epic. Mase was also a really awesome character as well. He was fiercely protective, loyal, and cared so much about Harlow. Plus, I LOVED catching up with Rush and Blaire and Woods and Della. There were a moment between Rush, Blaire, and Nate that just made me squeal with happiness. So sweet!

“But Woods made that happen,” she said. Harlow wasn’t stupid. “Yeah, he did. I didn’t ask him to, though. That was all him, and probably Rush, from the look on his face.” Harlow glanced over at them and they both quickly looked away from us..”

The steam. It. Was. Hot.  I had to fan myself a few times. Grant is really quite skilled in the art of dirty talk. Just, wow. Even after all of the steamy books that I have read I was still blushing through a good part of this book.

“I want you. I’ve wanted you since the moment I laid eyes on you. When I was buried inside of you I knew then I was sunk. Those pretty hazel eyes and angelic smile had started digging inside me and making themselves at home in my heart. But that night. . . you claimed me, and I can’t shake it. I can’t forget it.”

Then there was story itself. I went in blind as to what the story was actually about (you know, other than that it was about Grant & Harlow). I am so glad that I did. I really wasn’t expecting that. It was heartbreaking. All I want to do right now is go into my kindle and hug Grant. Then smack him upside the head. Then hug him some more.

“You chose me” was all he said. His warm breath against my skin made me shiver, and his body mimicked mine. He pulled back and looked at me. “I will make this good for you. I swear.”

If you haven’t read Abbi Glines before, I suggest you do. Like immediately.

OMG! I CANNOT wait for more Kellan!! SQUEE!!
OMG! I CANNOT wait for more Kellan!! SQUEE!!
Leo - Mia Sheridan

What’s This Book About?

Evie and Leo met in foster care as children and formed a bond of friendship. As they grew, their bond turned to love, and they vowed to make a life together when they turned 18 and were no longer a part of the system.
When Leo unexpectedly gets adopted as a teen and moves to another city, he promises Evie that he will contact her as soon as he gets there and come back for her in a few short years. She never hears from him again.
Now eight years later, in spite of the odds, Evie has made a life for herself. She has a job. She has friends. She's content. Then a man shows up out of the blue, claiming that her long lost love, Leo, sent him to check up on her. The attraction between them is undeniable. But, should she trust this sexy stranger? Or is he keeping a secret about what his connection to Leo is really all about and why Leo disappeared all those years ago?

My Thoughts?

I wasn’t really sure what to expect when I began reading Leo. I read & Loved Archer’s Voice. I mean REALLY Loved it, but that’s a story for another time. I have to say that this book definitely did not disappoint me. Mia Sheridan has once again delivered an amazingly emotional story that has me yearning for more. I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Leo & Evie were adorable. Their story was perfectly imperfect. I loved the relationship that they had. It really was so sweet! Now, I’m going to have to read Leo’s POV! I loved Evie. Seriously. She is one of my favorite leading ladies -that I have read this year. She wasn’t spoiled. She didn’t act selfish. She was loving & forgiving. She appreciated the smaller things in life. She worked hard for what she had & never took anything for granted. I loved that! Leo is a little bit hard to explain. He went through some hard times. He made some mistakes. Some BIG mistakes. But… I loved him despite them. He loved Evie as much as she loved him. His love for Evie is what ultimately led him to those mistakes I was talking about. He was her best friend. Her fierce protector. & The love of her life. There were a lot of things that I found admirable about Leo. He was very loving, funny -he could always make Evie laugh, he always took care of her & put her first. Those things should never be underappreciated. The story itself was amazing. The development of the story was great. I loved the flashbacks! I thought that the secondary characters were pretty great as well. I loved Evie’s friends (or family). There was one thing that bothered me though. & That was what Leo did. His “mistake.” How he did it. When he did it. What he did because of it. The whole thing just bugged me. Don’t get me wrong… I still love him, but he kind of sucked a little bit for that. Of course this really wasn’t a big deal. It wasn’t over the top unforgivable or anything. It was just a sucky mistake. It absolutely did not take away from the story at all. This book really did amaze me. I loved it! Mia Sheridan is an excellent writer. I love her style. Her stories (the ones that I have read) have just been wonderful. I have a feeling that Evie & Leo will stay with me for a while to come.

My Skylar by Penelope Ward

My Skylar - Penelope Ward

What This Book Is About:

Skylar was my best friend, but I secretly pined for her. One thing after another kept us apart, and I’ve spent the last decade in fear of losing her forever.
First, it was the cancer, but she survived only to face the unthinkable at my hands. Because of me, she left town. For years, I thought I’d never see her again.
But now she’s back…and living with him.
I don’t deserve her after everything I’ve put her through, but I can’t live without her. This is my last chance, because she’s about to make the biggest mistake of her life. I can see it her eyes: she doesn’t love him. She still loves me...which is why I have to stop her before it’s too late.

My Thoughts?

This book has my emotions all over the place! I was completely hooked from the first line on the very first page. I read this entire book in one day (well, if finishing it at 2 am still counts as one day). I literally couldn’t put it down. My Skylar was the third book in the Gemini series, but it was the first one that I have read. This book was addicting. It has been a while since I read a book that was this unbelievably good. That made me feel this much. The writing was perfect. The characters were extraordinary. They made mistakes, but they were so real. Their story was so heartbreakingly beautiful. I am definitely going to have to go back and read Penelope Ward’s previous books. Our main characters are Skylar & Mitch. Skylar was an amazing character to read about. I can’t imagine going through what she did. She was so very strong. She was also very open and real. I loved that about her. Mitch was… Mitch. Like Skylar, he was also very strong & he was always so open with Skylar. She was the only one he felt he could be completely honest with about everything he was going through (well… almost everything). This story was fantastic. The first part was so beautiful. It was the “before.” Honestly? That was my favorite part. Them falling in love & finally accepting their feelings for one another. It gave me the feeling of falling in love for the first time. Complete with all of the insecurities, butterflies, and moments of absolute giddiness. I loved the bond that they formed as children. Then, at about 20% in, I felt as if my heart was being painfully ripped from my chest. I was an emotional wreck. I hurt for them. I cried for them. I was scared for them. What they went through? It was absolutely heartbreaking. But, it seemed to only make them stronger & more in love than ever. Part two of the story was the “after.” It was more about them accepting the mistakes that that had been made. It was about them admitting (to themselves and each other) that no matter what happened, the love that they shared… it was never going to die. It was just growing stronger with time. Something that we found out in part two just amazed me. It really showed how loyal Mitch was to Skylar & just how much he loved her. I don’t want to give anything away so all that I am going to say is… 5 years!?! Wow. That is a long time. Like a really long time. A. Really. Long. Time. Wow. The ending was just completely wonderful. The epilogue was even more wonderful. The writing was so great that I felt as if I were these characters. Like it was me in the story. It was an incredible feeling. There were some “steamy” moments. Okay, those moments were a little more than steamy. We had to wait a bit for them, but it was definitely worth it. This book as a whole was just completely mind-blowing. I loved it! Seriously, I cannot recommend this book enough. Read it!

*I may be walking out of here, but there’s not a piece of my heart that’s coming with me.*

*Are you planning to give him your first kiss?”-“Probably.”- The jealousy that nearly made me insane earlier returned in full force. -“You can’t do that.” - “Why?” - My heart pounded in anticipation of what I was about to do. “Because I’m stealing it.”*

*That’s all you have to say? Dude, your face is turning colors.”*

*To be continued…because true love never ends.”*

Nero by Sarah Brianne

Nero - Sarah Brianne

What This Book Is About:

Nero is the king of Legacy Prep, living a life of power.
Elle is the school’s punching bag, living a life of fear.
The only good girls Nero knows jump in his bed when he tells them to.
The closest Elle has come to a bad boy like him is in the cafeteria line.
The mob boss gave him orders to find out what she knows.
Her mouth is sealed.
I just want to be a fu**ing made man.
I’m just a fu**ing waitress.

My Thoughts:

Oh, man! Where do I begin? Okay! I’ve got it. Let’s begin with Nero. *Sighs* Oh, Nero. All I can say is wow. Just, wow. He had me falling in love with him from that first “accidental” bump in the hallway. Holy god. Seriously? He was so cocky and demanding. I loved how much he cared about Elle. He didn’t really seem to put his “family” before her, which had me falling in love with him even more. He was a bad-boy with a heart of gold (when it came to Elle anyway). Loved. Him. Now, on to Elle. She was the poor girl at Legacy Prep School. She shopped at Goodwill for her clothes, which made her not so popular. She loved her best friend Chloe more than anything & always fought to protect her. I loved her & Chloe. She made the wrong choice a few times and made a few mistakes, but I genuinely liked her. I also loved the secondary characters. Chloe, Lucca, Vincent, Amo, and Marie. I thought they were all pretty awesome. Vincent was a lot of fun. I am so looking forward to the books to come. I’m hoping Vincent’s book is about his sister’s best friend. I LOVE the whole best friend’s sister/brother kind of story. & I am so for Chloe & Amo. The way they really disliked each other at the beginning? (love/hate relationships are the bestest).  Wowzers. That would make for one great story.  It seems like it might just be Chloe & Lucca though. Well, my fingers are crossed anyway. The story also had a lot going in it. I really liked that.  It wasn’t just a book about two people falling in love (but those books are really awesome too). There was another story taking place as well. You also got to see a few different sides of the story too. I thought that was pretty cool. I liked getting find out what was going on in the heads of the other characters. Nero gave me some killer butterflies in my tummy. This isn’t something that happens to me often while reading a book. Okay, fine. Maybe it does. Oh, did I mention how incredibly steamy this book was? No? Well, it was. & It was awesome. Nero has his dirty talk skill mastered. I loved so much about this story. I had a smile plastered on my face the entire time I was reading this book. The. Entire. Time. Well, except maybe when I was “softly” crying for them. This was the author Sarah Brianne’s first book. Personally, I think that she did a fantastic job. There were a few things that were off here and there, but nothing that took away from the story at all. I can’t wait until her next book comes out (Vincent’s story). Yay! Seriously, I enjoyed this story A LOT. If you haven’t read it… Do it. It was a great story that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Favorite Quotes:

* “She will go to college here now. She will live with me now. Elle is mine now.”*

* “I was never supposed to fall in love with her, but that was the best mistake of my life. I will always love her; I have ever since I purposely bumped into her in the hallway.”*

* “He turned back to them and saw Vincent closing his eyes, whispering something. “What the hell are you doing?” Vincent whispered something else before he opened his eyes. “I was just thanking God for leggings.”*

* “I told you not to touch, and now I’m telling you I won’t touch. I give you my word, Elle.”– “Promise?” She needed him to say it. Nero smiled down at her. “I promise, baby.”*

* “I will find out who hurt you today, and I will fucking enjoy them screaming in pain. I will find out every single thing anyone and everyone has done to you, and I will enjoy watching them all scream in pain.”*

Where I Belong - J. Daniels

What This Book Is About:

Benjamin Kelly. World’s biggest dickhead.

Always get the name of the guy you’re going home with.
Ben can’t get the girl he spent one night with out of his head. When she leaves him the next morning, he thinks he’ll never see her again. Until he sees her lounging by the pool with his sister.
Mia is determined to hate Ben, even though she can’t forget him.
Ben is determined to prove he’s not the same guy he used to be.
What happens when the one person you wish never existed becomes the one person you can’t imagine being without?

My Thoughts:

This book was a must read for me. I mean, bully turned lover?! How could I not read that? This book was awesome. Just… awesome. That is the only word I can think of to describe it. Awesome. Okay, I could probably think of more words, but none of them would describe it as accurately as the word awesome. Because it was. Awesome. I fell head over heels in love with this book. Holy moly! It wasn’t an “oh my god this book changed my life” book, but it was a very good read. It had it’s funny moments, sad moments, and of course a bunch of “Aww, that is so sweet” moments. Our main characters were Ben & Mia. Can I just say how adorable they are? Oh, man. They were freaking adorable! Ben & Mia hated each other as kids. Like really hated each other. He tormented her relentlessly. He was her best friend’s brother. Now they are all grown up & Mia thinks that ben hasn’t changed at all. She still expects him to be the jerkface that he was when they were younger. Boy, does he surprise her. After they share one incredible night together Mia just wants to pretend that it never happened & Ben wants the opposite. He wants to prove to her that he is no longer that boy that treated her so badly. He wants it all. Ben was sweet, caring, and way too sexy in his uniform. He eventually breaks her down & they fall hard for each other. Mia has been taking care of her mom who has cancer. When her mom begins to get better, she takes a vacation & spends the summer with her best friend Tessa. She doesn’t want to like Ben. She doesn’t want to feel anything for him at all. But, she can’t stop herself from falling for Ben. When I think of Mia, I think of responsibility. She is very responsible, but she is also a beautiful, caring & fun person. Nolan. Did I mention him? Wow, he was so freaking adorable. I loved him & Mia. When I first started reading this book, I actually stopped it because at about 40% I still just couldn’t get into the story. I am so happy that I decided to go back and give it a second chance!  This story was one that you definitely do not want to miss. I seriously cannot wait for Luke & Tessa’s story. It’s going to be amazeballs! This book was a sweet, hot story that made me laugh a little, smile a lot, and fan myself constantly from its hotness. I liked it a lot. So, go… read it. It will not disappoint.

Favorite Quotes:

*“The boy I once wished never existed was now the man I wanted to spend every second with.”*

*“I don’t care about the pain. I’ll endure anything to get to the woman I fucking breathe for. She needs me and as soon as you’re finished with that last stitch, I’m going to her.”*

*“I’m on my way. Oh my God, please call me back and tell me he’s okay. Tell him I love him, Tessa. Tell him I’m going to say that to him every second for the rest of his life. He’ll never go another day without hearing those words from me.” I hear her quivering breath before she pleads, “Please don’t take him away from me.”*

*“Christ, he’s sexy as hell and playful. Deadly combination. And he has every right to be cocky. I’m all for begging if it puts him inside me.”*

*“I just died. This has to be what heaven is like. Dirty little angels floating around, tempting you with barrier free sex.”*

The Dare by Rachel Van Dyken

The Dare (The Bet Series Book 3) (Volume 3) - Rachel Van Dyken

What This Book Is About:

Boring Beth Lynn has always lived up to her nickname… until she wakes up in a hotel bed next to a sexy as sin state senator she re-connected with at a wedding the previous night. The biggest problem? She can't seem to remember anything about the night before except for crying into a box of cookies, and she’s pretty sure Grandma Nadine slipped something in her drink. And what should have been a one night stand turns into a six day adventure when Grandma whisks them off to Hawaii to save them from the ensuing media firestorm. Jace isn't looking for commitment — he believes he made that clear when he left the wedding with Beth. Then again, he can't remember much of anything other than the way her skin felt beneath his hands. Now he's stuck with her at some lame couple’s retreat and trying his hardest to fight the attraction only a woman like Beth could invoke. He doesn't think it can get any worse. But one spider attack… A donkey ride from hell… And an unfortunate episode with Viagra tea — and there’s one thing Jace knows for sure: He should never have agreed to Grandma Nadine’s suggestion in the first place. Because if this isn't paradise, and it isn’t a vacation — that only leaves one option. Survival. But to make it through alive… they might lose their hearts in the process.

Oh My Thor!

I was completely sucked into this beautiful story. It takes a truly special author to be able to make you laugh your ass off one second and then make you want to cry the next. That is one of the many things that I loved about The Dare. & there were many things to love about this book. Seriously, like SO many. For example, I loved the main characters Jace & “Boring” Beth. Jace was just such an awesome character. He was very sweet, caring, and let’s not forget his god (Thor) like beauty. Beth was a very refreshing leading lady. She was smart, kind, and beautiful in the –I don’t even know I’m beautiful- kind of way. Plus, she didn't make you want to strangle her. Another thing that I absolutely loved about this book was… well, Grandma. Grandma Nadine is so much fun. She even stepped up her game a little bit in this book. Okay, maybe it was a lot. She has always been an awesome character. I loved her and Gus. So much fun to read about her! Then of course there was the fact that we got to catch up with Travis, Kacey, Jake, and Char. I may have jumped up and down a little bit when they would appear. It was awesome. And definitely one of the best parts of this book was the epilogue! I was in a state of euphoria during those few pages. My head was doing something like this: OhMyGod! OhMyGod! OhMyGod! OhMyFreakingGod! It really was incredible. Another thing that I really loved was that there was a history between Beth and Jace & the whole story behind their history. It was so sweet, but it was also so sad. Magical. It was just magical. Oh, man. Did I mention the writing? It was magnificent! Rachel Van Dyken knows how to tell a story. It was the perfect mixture of humor, sweetness, sadness, and just all around awesomeness. I also seriously loved the ending. No, not the epilogue. Just the ending. It was very heartwarming. I may have sighed out an “aww!” a little too loudly and had a few odd looks from strangers. It couldn't be helped though. I was just an “aww!” moment. Another one of my favorite parts of this story was the “six days.” Jace was so sweet to do that. I believe that the moment he began that is the moment I officially fell for him. One last thing that I thought was pretty awesome (okay, a lot awesome) was some of the kisses between Jace & Beth. Especially in the pool. Just… wow. They had me swooning like crazy. They ranged from incredibly sweet to extremely passionate. I swear, there isn't one single thing that I didn't love about this story.

I highly recommend this book. It was an amazing story!
